Why 'Years in Business' Is the Most Underrated Filter for Choosing a Web Agency

Delhi's web design market has a churn problem nobody talks about. Agencies appear, run hot for two years, and dissolve — taking their clients' hosting access, source files, and support promises with them. The orphaned websites they leave behind keep working until the first thing breaks, and then their owners discover what 'the agency shut down' actually costs.

This is why longevity deserves far more weight than portfolios in your selection process. A portfolio shows the best work anyone ever did; longevity shows a business model that works. A studio serving the same city for over a decade has survived on the only fuel that lasts that long: repeat clients and referrals. You cannot fake ten years of word-of-mouth in a market as talkative as Delhi's.

Longevity also compounds practically. An established firm has watched Google's algorithm shift a dozen times, has migrated clients through every technology change, and has systems — proper contracts, documented handovers, support processes — that two-year-old shops simply haven't needed to build yet. When something unusual breaks, they've seen it before.

So add one question to every vendor conversation: 'What year did you start, and can I speak to a client from your first five years?' A trusted web design company in Delhi since 2012 or earlier will treat that question as a gift, because their oldest clients are their proudest asset. Newer shops may still be excellent — but let them prove it with references, not just mockups.
